Personaggi, che nelle generazioni, si sono sempre riproposti,
regalando ai più piccini e non, momenti di allegria e spensieratezza.
Questi personaggi, sono stati inseriti negli orologi,
facendo impazzire i collezionisti, come nella Mickey Mouse 30’s Collection,
della nota marca Ingersoll nel 1933, con il primissimo orologio di Topolino.
Questo primo esemplare d’orologio, fu presentato a Chicago,
all’esposizione “Century of Progress”, prodotto in 11.000 pezzi/confezioni, conseguì
un successo straordinario.
Gli orologi di Mickey Mouse, distribuiti nei grandi
magazzini di Macy’s di New York, ricevettero, giorno dopo giorno, sempre più
richieste da parte del pubblico, tanto che dopo 2 mesi di produzione, la
fabbrica Ingersoll, dovette assumere 2700 lavoratori, a fronte dei 300 già al
lavoro.
Dopo 3 anni, nel 1935, fu raggiunta la vendita di 2.500.000
di esemplari, cifra incredibile, decretando l’orologio di Mickey Mouse, come l’orologio
più indossato dal popolo americano, sia da grandi che piccini.
Quest’orologio da allora è sempre stato prodotto da varie
case di orologeria, tuttora, ha ancora un grande fascino ed è ancora prodotto.
L'orologio da polso di Topolino, Mickey Mouse, quando venne immesso sul mercato, costava 3 dollari e 75 centesimi, con un abbassamento del prezzo a 2,95 dollari nell’anno successivo, per consentirne l’acquisto ad un pubblico di consumatori più ampio.
Oggi, se per caso, ne trovaste uno, sappiate che il suo valore attuale, è di circa 6 mila dollari.
